Independent writer & survey data specialist

Words that resonate. Data that makes sense.

I’m John Eja. I turn specialist knowledge into useful writing, and field data into reliable findings. Two disciplines, connected by a commitment to clarity.

The person behind the work

Curious by nature.
Careful by practice.

I’m a collectibles writer with a statistics background. That combination shapes how I work: research closely, question assumptions, and make the findings clear.

I work independently and with my seven-person team when a project needs broader support. My survey experience includes backend team contributions to cash-access and nationwide ward-enumeration programmes.

My ongoing freelance writing has involved remote collaboration, client briefs, deadlines and revisions. I keep project discussions straightforward and by email.

More about my background

Before we start

A few useful answers.

Can we work entirely by email?

Yes. We can discuss the brief, agree the scope and handle project communication by email.

What should I send for a data project?

Start with a description and an approved de-identified example, along with the outputs you need and your intended deadline. Keep confidential respondent or client information out of an initial enquiry.

Can you help with an existing Survey123 form?

Yes. I build and modify Survey123/XLSForms and can support form testing, validation and backend data-quality checks. We agree a defined task after reviewing the requirements.

Have a project in mind?

Let’s make something clear.

Tell me what you’re working on, the output you need and your intended deadline. We can find a defined assignment and discuss the details by email.
